Day 10: Being Accepted

Being accepted means not only being accepted by others, but also being accepted by yourself which I think is more important. In this post, I would definitely like to talk more about the later one.

Accepting ourselves does not represent we are going to maintain the current situation forever, but it is the first step for us to make a change after knowing who we are. People who doesn't accept himself acts wired and always trying to run away from himself, and it's incredible tough and dull to be around with people who do not accept themselves, just think about this: who is going to accept someone who even don't accept themselves?
Love yourself is also the way of accepting yourself. (photo source)

Day 9: Being Alone

The greatest mind has to bear the greatest solitude. Once you reached a deeper inside yourself then you would found you are alone, the essence for your existence is solitude. In the same way, to found yourself, you have to be alone so that you can have the "conversation" with yourself and walk into the wonderland. A man can be himself only so long as he is alone.
Being alone is the way to have "conversation" with yourself. (photo source)

People who enjoy themselves and their loneliness because they have splendid inner worlds, even they were alone, they would be satisfied to face themselves and search the "wonderland" to gain the energy. While for the people who always trying to escape from themselves, they are frightened to see their empty inner worlds, they can't see the point, light and get the comforts from themselves, getting themselves lost...trying to hold on to someone who doesn't care about losing them.

Day 8: the Truth

Everybody heard about the "truth"
but seldom of them could see it.

Day 7: (Continued Story) the Paradox

For the continued story of contradiction, this time I'd like to introduce you something more exciting, it's called--Paradox, which is more fascinating to me, and it leads to uncoordinated contradictions. So first we need to know the difference and connection between paradox and contradiction. Generally, a contradiction is a statement that contains more than one propositions which cannot be all true at the same time, the solution is you have to discard some of them. While paradox is a statement that can neither be true nor false for both of the situation would lead to contradictions and there is no solution to fix it.

By the explanation above, it is easy to see that the example in the former blog entry is a contradiction, because the announcement "I’m not going to post today" and the fact that "I posted it at last" (stated in another way) cannot be all true at the same time. There are also some similar contradictions stated as "I'm not typing on a computer", "I'm saying nothing", "The color of these words is red"...and so on.

Day 6: the Day for Break

Seriously this is not even a break since I am still writing my 6th blog entry, but I'm also announcing that I won't post blog entry today by publishing a blog entry, so there is a contradiction.
CONTRADICTION LEADS TO MISERIES. (photo source)

It is very powerful to use contradictions to show some systems that are not self-consistent. To prove whether there are contradictions, the only thing you need is logical deduction, then soon or later you will know it. But once it was being proved that a system is self-consistent or there is no contradiction, then it is a perfect well-functioning system, that's the reason why Riemannian geometry and Hyperbolic geometry are being widely accepted by the whole world even they go against people's intuition.

Day 5: the Self-awareness

Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is enlightenment.
Lao Tzu

Maybe the most amazing and incomprehensible thing in the world is that you can feel yourself. When we were born there was no memories or self-awareness inside, and before that we don't even exist yet! So where are we from and who are we? Why was this body being chosen to be "me" instead of others? We'd better start with distinguishing the physical me and self-awareness me.

Day 4: the Reality

I think therefore I am.
France, RenĂ© Descartes

When I was little, I was terrified to think that I might be in a huge play, all of the people I know including my parents acted in front of me in turns, and they discussed when and where to show up next time when I can't see them. All things happened around me were trying to lead me to somewhere. Even now I am fascinated by my childhood thoughts, however, I still can't prove they are wrong.

Day 3: the Free Will

Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains.
France, Rousseau
Man thinks, God laughs.
Unknown

Most of us think we are free because we have choices to be or not to be, the key here is how does a choice being made. more specifically, what really happened in our brains when we were making a choice?

Day 2: the Light

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

IT IS THE LIGHT MADE EVERYTHING DIFFERENT. (photo source)

Day 1: Announcement About Everyday Posting for the Next 10 Days

This is a promise for myself to start blogging everyday for the next 10 days, it might be a big challenge for me because I have never kept a blog for such a long time continuously. Interview: A Journey Into Soul With HALLELUJAH TRUTH

An interview about soul and energy with HALLELUJAH TRUTH for people who are wondering and searching.

Maybe it's the human's nature for getting to know who we really are in this world. Are we able to find out the truth of life? I came up with this blog theme because such kind of thoughts(questions) just kept coming into my mind and bother me the most when I was practicing free writing, most of them are still open to me and I decide to have a discussion with someone who have a deep understanding about life.

I was being truly honored to have this interview with HALLELUJAH TRUTH, my dear English teacher in Language Institution of Georgia Tech, on this Thursday. She has a strong spirit for creativity and art, and she also showed her deep thinking with wisdom from her tremendous life experiences during the interview. (See more about her in her website)

How to Blog?

I used to think a good blogger must be an excellent writer, and a few of us could do that. There were several blogs I have ever kept before this journey, but I quit to post at last since I spent too much time on choosing the most proper words and being too careful with grammar, sometimes I even totally forgot my blogs because of the busy work. But now, I've learnt how to keep a blog and keep going.

The theme I choose for this blog is quite open but a little tricky, which leads to the tough times whenever I need to post. Actually I came up with this blog theme due to the free writing, and the thoughts came to me at that time still bother me the most now, to some extent, this is the real part of me. So far everything goes well and it seems like a good start. Here are the ideas about how to be a good blogger which I learnt after several blog entries.

Thank You On Thanksgiving And Every Other Day!

It's very lucky for me to experience the first Thanksgiving Day in America, from this precious chance I learnt more about it. The first thanksgiving was celebrated by the Pilgrims to show their grateful to the Native Americans who helped them a lot. On the fourth Thursday in November, families or friends gather together to have a big meal with turkey and express their gratitude to each other.

THANKSGIVING TURKEY. I feel regret that I did not make the turkey in blogging class, then I had to draw one by myself since there is no colored paper and pen! O_O. (Photo by Shell Bean)

Stories of My Day

Happy days always come soon and last short, taking photos is a good way to keep them stay in our mind. Here are the happy stories that I want to tell you by photos about my day.

WHAT TO EAT FOR LUNCH? The only dish I'm good at is cooking eggs in several ways, such as fry eggs with pepper, onion or balsam pear, egg cookies, egg soup, and so on. In addition, a cup of lemon drink (which is my favorite) can keep you in a good mood for the whole afternoon. (Photo by Shell Bean)

Beside the Rivers and Sea

Sometimes we get tired of modern busy lives, maybe it's time for us to stop our step and settle down to look for the peace of heart and gain the new power to restart our journey. As for me,  every time I stuck, I would like to take a walk along the river or the sea coast, let the wind comb and refresh my thoughts, let the water wave wash away the sorrows.

THE SEA COAST GUARDIAN. Coconut tree is a kind of typical plant in tropical regions, especially the areas near the sea. This photo was taken in Xiamen when I was still a high school student, this is also the first time I see the ocean and fell in love with it. (Photo by Shell Bean)

Shell Bean's Litany

Litany

By Shell Bean

You are the air and the wind,
the sweet memories and the flame.
You are the aroma of the morning roses
and the inspiration of the brain.
You are the sunshine in the cold winter
and the bright rainbow after the rain.

This I Believe

From my own understanding, belief is some abstract thoughts or opinions hold by people that reflect his/her attitude towards life, values and the outside world, it could be a kind of specific religion or some sort of certain rules that he/she insists and uses them as guidelines to guide his/her life. I also found an interesting website in which different people share their beliefs, here is the link: click me

I BELIEVE THEREFORE I HOPE. photo source

As for me, I don't have any religious beliefs just like most of Chinese people do nowadays, but I do surely believe in something else. I believe that good begets good, and evil leads to evil. Just like hard-work leads to success, honesty leads to trust, and cheating leads to fail, there always gonna be consequences for what you have done in the past, maybe it is one of the universal basic rules.

Great Journey

What can you feel (more specifically, what kind of mood can you feel) from my blog? I guess it may be a little moody. Actually to tell you the truth, it hasn't being settled down yet by now, because there are so many interesting things I want to share with you, and it is too early to decide which way to go next.

By searching key words "photograph" and "travel" in Google, checking the links in their blogs, it is very easy to find some similar blogs as yours that you can enjoy, here are some blogs I found in the internet, as it shows below.

There are total 621 posts since 2008, about 14 posts for every month. A lot of pictures are used in his blog; we can see he really enjoys writing. The background of his blog is clean and simple, makes it easy to distinguish the posts and pages.

HELLO, WORLD!

Now I am very excited to start writing my first blog post here, your visitation is my great honor and it will encourage me to keep writing. In this blog post, I'll give you a brief introduction about me and my blog, hope you enjoy it! :-)

In this blog, I will mainly focus on the particular things that I am interested in, such as movies, music, painting, photograph, technology and traveling, exploring the unknown, share my experiences and feelings about them. Most importantly, find the new positive power from the past.

My name for this blog is Shell Bean, which came directly from my real name "Shibing", these small lovely beans also fascinated me, and I made an interesting photograph for my blog by photoshop, as it is shows below:
Planets Inside Shell Bean

The shell of bean is hard and sometimes useless, just like our body, what matters is what inside, thinking. We all born with empty cup, and we try to fill it by different things after we grow up. The planets inside means our own world, known or unknown, which I want to understand, find out the truth and my purpose by exploring the mystery with my whole life.

This is all for my first post. Please feel free to leave your comments or messages if you have any question, I will be very glad to answer it!
